1. Information we collect
When you register, we collect your name, school name, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash). We also collect information you enter about your school — classes, subjects, teachers, rooms, and timetable schedules.
2. How we use your information
We use your information solely to provide ClassTime services — authentication, timetable generation, substitution management, PDF export, and billing. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
3. Data storage
Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
4. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
5. Third-party services
We use Razorpay for payment processing. When you make a payment, your payment details are handled by Razorpay subject to their privacy policy. We only store a transaction reference ID.
We use an SMTP service (Gmail) to send transactional emails such as password resets and verification codes.
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your data within 30 days on request.
7. Your rights (DPDP)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
8. Children's privacy
ClassTime is intended for use by school administrators and teachers (adults). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 18. Student names are not required — the system works with class codes and anonymised timetable data.
